Plus a Heartfelt Thank You to Our First Donor, Marci Andrews
We’re excited to share that Friends of Amelia Street Urban Forest is officially partnering with Verdant, a local nonprofit that helps green projects like ours grow stronger roots. Through this partnership, we are now able to accept tax-deductible donations to support our mission of creating a vibrant, inclusive outdoor learning space for students and a welcoming natural refuge for our community.
Our first fundraising goal is a big, lofty one—and we need your help to reach it!
We’re working to restore the on-site greenhouse, a long-neglected structure full of potential. With your support, we can bring it back to life to grow vegetables for local families, native plants to support pollinators, and to offer students hands-on, sensory-rich learning experiences right here on the grounds of Amelia Street School.
🌱 A Special Thanks to Our First Donor: Marci Andrews
We are deeply grateful to Marci Andrews, who made the first official donation to kick off this new chapter. Even more meaningful, her gift was made in memory of her father, Ed Andrews, who served as principal of Amelia Street School in the late 1970s. His legacy of leadership and care for the students who call this school home continues to inspire us today.
If you believe in the power of green spaces, inclusive education, and strong community roots, we hope you’ll consider making a contribution. Every gift brings us one step closer to opening the greenhouse doors and watching new growth take root.
