Today, we’re not just celebrating our planet — we’re celebrating progress!

We’re beyond excited to share that the Urban Design Committee has officially approved the concept plan for an ADA-friendly nature trail at Amelia Street School!

This marks a huge milestone for the Amelia Street Urban Forest and the surrounding community. The new trail will provide inclusive access to nature, allowing students, neighbors, and visitors of all abilities to enjoy the beauty and benefits of this growing greenspace. It will also serve as a space for outdoor learning, reflection, movement, and connection—right in the heart of the city.

🌿 What This Means for the Community

  • Accessible pathways for students, families, and neighbors with mobility challenges
  • Opportunities for outdoor education aligned with the school’s wellness and learning goals
  • A peaceful, natural retreat that supports physical and mental well-being for everyone who visits

We couldn’t have reached this exciting point without the passionate collaboration of our partners.

A huge shoutout to:

Stay tuned for updates as we move closer to breaking ground. And as always, thank you for being part of this journey with us.

With gratitude,
The Amelia Street Urban Forest Team
